The educational art project "She is science" from STEM is FEM combines three elements: science, art and literary creativity.

In September, a traveling exhibition about Ukrainian women who changed and are changing the world of exact sciences was held in Poltava.

Olena Romas, Head of the Department of Culture, Youth and Family of Poltava City Council, was a guest of the opening of the exhibition at the Palace of Leisure "Listopad".

"We see women here as scientists, women who can compete with dignity in stereotypically "male" professions, "male" areas of activity. It is in this style, in this image, that modern women should be shown, ” – Olena Romas stressed.

Pupils of Poltava schools enjoyed the grand opening of the exhibition. Elizaveta Korenko, coordinator of the STEM is FEM project, gave the children an interesting excursion.

Pupils were interested in bright portraits, they asked a lot of questions, and in memory of the event they took postcards - reduced images of portraits of heroines of the scientific world.

Everyone was able to see the exhibition from 15 to 30 September.

The traveling exhibitions are part of the «She is science» educational art project, initiated by STEM is FEM with the support of UN Women in Ukraine and the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) in Ukraine as part of the UN Generation of Equality global campaign.
