Yuliya Nosulko

Yuliya Nosulko grew up in a family of specialists in energetics and that has significantly influenced the choice of her career. However, instead of working in the traditional energy sector, she chose state energy regulation when it only started forming in Ukraine.

When Yuliya was working at the National Electricity Regulatory Commission of Ukraine, it was the active phase of the reform of the late 1990s, when the structure of the industry left from the Soviet times was starting to transform into the market relations. Yuliya was directly involved in developing the regulatory framework and reforming the electricity market based on the British pool model. Further, Yuliya's professional activity was focused on the private sector of the energy market reform and state regulation of energy.

Yuliya Nosulko was a member of the expert groups involved in the Verkhovna Rada Committee on the Fuel and Energy Complex, Nuclear Policy and Nuclear Safety that was developing law framework of the electricity market and the regulator. She was the co-chair of the energy committee of the American Chamber of Commerce. Currently, Yuliya is a member of the Presidium of the Public Union "First Energy Association of Ukraine." She took part in the project "Reforming the Electricity Market" that was organized by 'Novoye Vremia' magazine and was aimed to explain the main components of the reform to Ukrainian society. She also created a video blog Electric Power Market Reform on Youtube to promote changes in the electricity industry.

Yuliya has created and keeps administered a public group on Facebook "Reforming the Electricity Market," which has become a platform of industry awareness and helps spreading the news about reforms and development of the industry, as well as a place for discussing issues of the industry.
