The exposition tells about the life and scientific path of twelve outstanding Ukrainian female scientists of the present and past centuries. Among the heroines - biologists, physicists, mathematicians, who made a significant contribution to the development of world science.

The visual part of the exhibition was created by five contemporary famous Ukrainian illustrators - Anna Ivanenko, Anna Sarvira, Olga Degtyareva, Eugenia Polosina and Sergei Maidukov. The artists depicted the scientists in stylized portraits depicting the field of science in which they succeeded. Twelve essays that won the all-Ukrainian competition for high school and university students and were included in the exhibition as captions to the paintings tell about these successes.

"Ukrainian female scientists have made a significant contribution to the development of world science, and we strive to promote their achievements. The world needs to know the role of Ukrainian women in the progress of humanity and its progress towards knowledge, " - said Yegor Pivovarov, Chargé d'Affaires of Ukraine in the Kingdom of Belgium and the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg.

Each country has its own outstanding female scientists, confident organizers of "She is science". In Belgium, for example, you can think of several names at once. In particular, Sylvia Ratsanami helped create the distributed hash table technology that BitTorrent is currently using. Physicist and mathematician Ingrid Dobeshi has improved JPEG image compression technology. Biologist Shoshana Vodak was one of the first to put proteins together using a computer program.

"Apart from the cognitive one, the exhibition also has an educational function. We are concerned about the gender imbalance in science and the decline in the popularity of technical disciplines among Ukrainian schoolgirls. Therefore, another goal of the project is to raise the awareness of Ukrainian women scientists, who can be a role model for schoolgirls and inspire them to choose a profession in STEM ", - added the project manager of STEM is FEM Polina Boychuk.
