Anastasiia Makridina
Anastasiia Makridina is a program assistant at the American House in Kyiv, a leading center of American culture, education, and information about the United States in Ukraine. It is a comfortable, tech-forward space for open dialogue, idea generation, and innovation. Anastasia is involved in organizing a wide range of events, including discussions on pressing policy issues, speaker series, workshops, movie nights, discussion clubs, and art exhibits. Anastasia also manages the Makerspace work and assists visitors in using the equipment. She is specialized in additive technologies, namely 3D printing FDM.
Anastasiia Makridina is graduated as an architect (Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture). She prefers to work with space, parametric objects, simple and minimalist forms. She promotes the "makers" movement and supports eco-conscious consumption. Anastasiia has developed parametric architectural objects and worked on the ReWhale installation design, which was showed three times at various festivals in Kyiv. ReWhale is an interactive installation that, through a synthesis of art, architecture, and music, draws attention to the terrifying effects of the extinction of marine life.
