Sabrina Gildehaus, CEO of GILDEHAUS, is working for over 13 years in the fashion industry and held leading management functions at JOOP!, TOM TAILOR and ZALANDO, Europe’s largest online fashion platform based in Berlin. At ZALANDO she was heading the footwear and accessories buying department with an annual purchasing budget of € 400 Mio.
In 2018 Sabrina moved from Berlin to Kyiv and founded GILDEHAUS, seeing great potential in the Ukrainian market to become THE close-to-Europe destination for production and new fashionable brands.
GILDEHAUS is operating in the Ukrainian market since beginning of 2019 and is working as an investment partner for emerging and established Ukrainian fashion and lifestyle brands to pave their way to Western European markets. Apart from providing individual consulting services GILDEHAUS invests in existing Ukrainian brands that seek for both the capital as well as the operational expertise to strengthen their organization.
Also aims the GILDEHAUS mentoring program to foster exchange by hosting round table discussion rounds which provide young design talents and fashion entrepreneurs a platform to access knowledge and coaching from industry peers.
“The high work ethic and positive mindset in Ukraine is impressive, many young people have a vision and the courage to try things out, but still entrepreneurship and many industries remain a traditionally male-dominated territory. The shortage of female representation seems not due to a lack of appetite, instead there is a wealth of evidence to indicate major barriers women face when founding and leading a business. Our young female generation deserves to be supported, encouraged and equipped to change our future”, says Sabrina.
Sabrina is also a regular guest lecturer at K.A.M.A (Kyiv Academy of Media Arts) and writes a monthly column for L´officiel Austria on female empowerment topics.
