Competition for participation in the Module "3D Modelling and Printing " has started

The online competition for participation in the educational event on 3D modeling and printing for school girls has started.

The previous events were dedicated to biotechnology, IT, environment and energy, engineering, and robotics, this time we want to interest the girls in 3D technology. The module is scheduled for June, 13-14. 

The new topic, according to organizers, was chosen at the request of the participants themselves. 3D modeling is used today not only in animation and game development; but also in scientific experiments, car crash tests, load measurement of a building`s bearings, interior design, limb-fitting – all these are ways of using 3D technologies. No less commonplace in the direction of 3D-printing.

Artificial bones, designer clothing, and jewelry, car details, and even space industry – everywhere 3D printing is used. Starting as an exclusive scientific method 3D printing became an interesting hobby and a commonplace production technology. According to research by Sculpteo portal, 51% of technology companies in the US are already using 3D-printing in their production.

For instance, the BMW company reported last year, that it had built the millionth printed detail in their cars. The SmarTech Analysis portal believes that by 2027 3D-printing will have become the main dentistry method. After getting acquainted with the fields of use and the main principles of the technology, the girls will be able to develop the Ukrainian high-tech industry in the future.

To take part in the educational module, you have to go through the qualifying testing on the project website. All Ukrainian high school girls are allowed without restrictions. The testing will last until May, 26. Except for the direct acquaintance with 3D, the girls are going to listen to motivational speeches by prominent women and compete for interesting prizes.
