Katja Salsbäck
Katja Salsbäck is a Counsellor at the Swedish Embassy in Kyiv. She is a career diplomat with a particular focus on EU affairs and Eastern Europe. Before moving to Ukraine, she was working in Brussels, among other things on sanctions against Russia and the Association Agreement with Ukraine.
As a diplomat, Katja Salsbäck has focused on political and economic transition, as well as conflict resolution and multilateral negotiations. In addition to serving in the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, she has worked for the European Commission, the EU diplomatic service, and the OSCE in Kosovo.
Ms. Salsbäck holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Stockholm School of Economics, and in International Relations from Columbia University, New York.
She is an avid Alpine skier who has lived in nine different countries and speaks eight languages.
