The Minister of Social Policy and the Representatives of Google Will Become the STEM is FEM Speakers!

Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovska, People’s Deputy, in the past - Chief Operating Officer in Ring Ukraine Kira Rudyk and Vice President Engineering at GlobalLogic Julia Dubovaya, will become motivational speakers and have a talk with the girls participating in the project.

On December 14, the second module of the STEM is FEM project for Ukrainian schoolgirls starts in Kyiv. This time, the project is dedicated to the IT topic. The organizers announced that the representatives of the authorities and leading IT companies will speak at the module.

Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine Yulia Sokolovska, People’s Deputy, in the past - Chief Operating Officer in Ring Ukraine Kira Rudyk and Vice President Engineering at GlobalLogic Julia Dubovaya, will become motivational speakers and have a talk with the girls participating in the project.

“The IT industry is now a creative industry in which both men and women can be successful. So, if you are talented and if you put the maximum amount of energy into the project, you succeed! No matter if you are a man or a woman,” Kira Rudyk said.

The representatives from Google, GlobalLogic, and Beetroot will introduce the professional aspects of their jobs to the girls.

“Working in IT opens up the new exciting world. This means both technologies, mindset, and people around. I’ve never met so many creative, bright, intelligent, positive and space people in one place,” said Iryna Zelenetska, Front-End Developer from Beetroot, “Besides, in order to keep up with the technology development, one has to learn constantly, and it doesn’t let the brain relax. Why women in IT… Does gender really matter? You should come to IT not because you are a girl, but because IT is cool!”

The girls will also have excursions to the IT-company and participate in the competition. The main prize for the victory in the competition is participation in the Webit Festival Europe, to be held in Valencia next year.

Among the speakers of the first biotechnology module were Minister of Health Zoriana Skaletska, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Inna Meteleva and the specialists in the biotechnology field.
