The first competition of the new charitable project STEM is FEM has just started. We hope to attract girls’ attention to technological specialties and increase women’s presence in the industry.

The charity project STEM is FEM has launched the competition for participation in the first module Biotechnologies. Girls from all over Ukraine can participate by filling in the online form on our website.

STEM is FEM is an educational project to promote STEM-specialties among girls. It aims at motivating girls to choose STEM-related jobs, i.e. jobs relating to science, technology, engineering or math. We believe that future entrants do not often choose the fields because they are not confident in their abilities and doubt their opportunities to settle in such jobs that are stereotypically considered male in society. And we will do our best to break those stereotypes!

Our project has two stages: a twenty-one online test and an educational module in Kyiv. In Kyiv, the participants have two days of getting into the chosen industry. Therefore, we are planning the meetings with women who are already working in the sphere, Q&A sessions, lectures about the industry’s development and possible career opportunities, excursions to the leading companies. Another activity expected is one more competition. We promise the prizes that will allow the girls to advance in their careers – still keeping them a secret now;)

The first module of the project will be held in October. It is dedicated to the topic of Biotechnology.
