The prize of the fourth STEM is FEM module on the topic of robotics and engineering, which is going to be held this weekend, will be a kit for creating an in-house robot and a delayed trip-surprise.

It is going to be the first online module due to the quarantine restrictions. But the project core remains unchanged – we try to encourage more girls to choose STEM professions by using motivational speeches by successful women, questions and answers sessions with field specialists, practical exercises, and competitions.

Our final competition prize is usually attending a large-scale world STEM event. But due to the world pandemic, most of these events were canceled or rescheduled. The same was true for the Yale International Alliance Conference on Global Citizenship in Rome, attendance of which was supposed to serve as prize for Irina Natalukha, the “Environment, and Energy” Module winner.

That is why the winner of the “Robotics and Engineering” Module’s creative competition will get a technology kit LEGO MINDSTORMS Education EV3 for constructing an in-house robot. It is a real robot, which can be constructed and programmed to your commands. The STEM School Inventor recommends it to its students since children and youth become robotics stars with its help. It is the first step towards serious projects, which deal with robots, and it will be a real revelation for our girls!

And once the world has come out of the coronavirus, a delayed trip-surprise will be waiting for all the grand Prix module winners, who won`t have been granted a planned attending of international events. It may be Womenize! Games & Tech or Tech Open Air in Berlin, or possibly Maker Faire in Paris, or Women in Tech Perspectywy 2020. We`ll keep it a secret for now)

The two girls, who will get the second-place prize at this week’s module, will be granted a two-month online course “Introduction to Engineering” by the University of Texas at Arlington (USA).

The online project module is going to host 30 girls, who have best coped with the test on the STEM is FEM website. The finalists come from 17 various cities in Ukraine. The educational module is scheduled for April, 11-12.
